He can't accept the fact you are growing up. It is a hard thing especially for fathers who spend a lot of their time out of the home to one day realize what they have missed. He may well think of you as very young. I am 46 and my dad still thinks of me as 10 it is hard for him to realize one that he is old enough to have a daughter 46 and another that I am an adult. It has strained our relationship. Fathers don't like to think of their daughters having sex I think it is biased but no the less it is how they feel, it might be why he has a hard time with it!!!

Because he's your dad! And most dad's don't want there daughter's doing that! My dad said I had to wait until I was 40... He was pissed that I got pregnant when I did... He wanted me to always be his little girl and never grow up and that isn't realistic! He had to find out the hard way and then decided that he was okay with it... Now, I'm married and he's like make sure you keep your husband happy!!!

Crazy I think!

If you're referring to the "sex talk" I'll bet even money he's more embarrassed than scared. Its difficult for a man to talk to a girl, especially his own daughter, about the more intimate acts in life.
Try to see it from his position and cut him a little slack.

He's not scared, it's just not easy for him, especially to talk to his daughter. Most men don't want to think of their daughters and sex at the same time.

Alot of parents think by telling their kids you are allowing them to have sex. Then they have to admit that their children are growing up. But you have to make him understand that you are mature enough to decide, and you would perfer him to talk to you rather than getting false info from friends.

A father never wants his daughter to do it. So thats all assure him that you will wait for the right time and not make any mistakes and maybe he will loosen up.

No offense of anything...but "doing it" maybe he wants to wait until you say "having sex".
But, who am I to judge right?
Its akward for a guy to talk to their daughter about sex. In their eyes, no guy is good enough for them, and they never will be.
Try talking to your mom about sex. Not your dad.
God luck either way.

He is just conservative, nothing wrong with it. I think you should follow suit. Ask your mom, and be mature, also take care of yourself, there are going to be many boys that will want to have "fun" with you, but you should demand respect instead. Take care of yourself, and keep yourself pure 'till marriage. I promise you, you will not regret it. God Bless.

I guess he is just to scared for you to find out whatever in world he has done, whatever if he knows you know. That is your Dad just be quite about whatever it is he has done. Let Dad keep his secret , okay.
