The kids are home and I'm trying to think of things to do with them. I have lollipop molds and sticks. If I simply melt Nestle chocolate chips to pour into the molds, will it set hard enough? What tricks/tips and/or other ingredients would I need to be sure they set?

Yes, I think it will set up enough. If you want, you could melt some colored icing just a little in the microwave and let them paint it onto the lollipops once cooled for decoration. Or even ice them and dip them in sprinkles too. If you melt the choc. chips in the microwave, you may want to add a small pat of butter to them. Hope it works out! :)

Yes that should work, you may want to add some milk as you melt the chocolate. And to speed up the process you can melt the chocolate in the microwave but do it at small intervals of time. Once the molds are filled i suggest putting them in the fridge to set. Should only take 15-20 minutes to set in the cool refrigerator.

Just chocolate! If you add anything else it softens the clocolate and it won't set up. Just melt the chocolate and pour. If you want colors use white chocolate and powdered food dyes.

You can do it that way, but it's not guaranteed.

There are stores (usually craft stores and Walmart) that sell the melting chocolates in different colors. I learned to make chocolate lollipops from a friend when I was in college and, while being fun and enjoyable, it can also get messy.

If you have a clean brush, use if for different colors in the molds.

If you really want to use Nestle, you may want to get some white chocolate to go with the regular chocolate. Just remember to freeze everything when you are done.
