Tricky math - GOOD LUCK!!?

Question

Three people were out for dinner and thier meal costed $10 each, they all gave the waitress a $10 note each which comes to $30. When the waitress took the $30 to the boss, he told her to return $5 to the three. On the way back, the waitress put $2 in her own pocket as she did not know how to split $5 between 3 people. She then gave the diners back $1 each.... Now because the diners got a $1 discount each off thier $10 meals that is a total of $27, plus $2 the waitress stole is $29. Where is the other dollar???

i heard this joke b4 but in a different form, the answer is that there is no other dollar, cause its added wrong, if u look at it the meal was 25, the waitress stole 2, and they guys recieved 3 that 30 all together (♥)

Haha easy! The 30 dollars was given to boss. The meals costed 10 dollars each, so the meals were paid for. The returned 5 dollars was seperate from the original 30. you could say its a gift of some sort. so its like this...

10 Dollars from each man, meals are paid in full > Waitress carrying 30 Dollars to Boss > Boss says to waitress to give the men 5 dollars (a gift perhaps) > Waitress steals 2 dollars > Waitress gives each man 1 dollar each (the gift - 2 dollars waitress stole)

this one goes either way. It tricks you into thinking a dollar is missing, when in all reality, their meal only cost $25 for the 3 of them. The waitress kept $2 out of the change and gave $3 back to the table, which is the $30. But of course if you look the other way it is $29. Math can be tricky!
