Anything is possible, but I say no. There are freaky things that I've witnessed that I couldn't explain. That doesn't mean ghosts are the explanation.

What seperates the real from the unreal (at least on a macroscopic level) are clear pictures (orbs? white mist? c'mon...), and clear audio recordings, positive measurement, and/or "mass sightings" where dozens or hundreds of people are witnesses to the same, and apparently some notable scientist has to say it's true (though I personally won't believe everything that a man in a lab coat says without proof).

Everybody has a story or two of things that happened they couldn't explain, including myself. It's just superstition and the expectations of seeing or hearing a ghost that make every little sound you hear a ghost, when it's just something like furniture settling.

Well, I can answer from a religious point of view, an Islamic one. Well Allah said in Quran that he had created two parallel worlds: the human world and the Jin: they are creature that were created from fire (a bit different than Satan). We can't see them; we can hurt them without knowing. But they can see us, harm us or not, some of them are non-Muslims and some are Muslims, they can move in a very high speed. They can take different shapes and posses humans and animals. In His book, God said that humans and Jins were created to worship him, and the Prophet spoke of them as well.

I guess people mix up ghosts with Jins

[051:056] I have not created the jinn and the human kind, (for any reason) except that they should worship Me.
[055:015] He created the (race of) jinn out of the (lucent) blaze of fire!
[072:011] “Among us (jinn), there are some that are righteous, and others that are quite the opposite. We follow diverse (and divergent) paths.”

Lost souls, not ghosts. Yes, they do. And, anyone familiar with the super string theory or physics will tell you the realm we live in, is only one of many. And, sometimes, souls get trapped between them.

--Yeah, the religious zealots will say that science and religion aren't the same. But, if one does some historical research, they'll find out that isn't really the case.

The Word says the dead know nothing. If someone has had an interaction with a "spirit" it does not mean it is a family member or something like that, it may just be Satan and demons possing as such. Don't be pulled down that road

Spirits, not ghosts, do exist. In fact demons also exist. You can learn about them in the Bible. Jesus talks about them. They are also called devils.
