You must make sure there is a proper footing, especially where frost is a concern. Consult a structural engineer or code authority to determine the needs of footings, proceed from there.

This is a step that should not be missed. I have inspected several sunroom additions that just had a patio slab without footings. Nothing but a disaster!! Good luck.

Like jake says dig around the edge of slab and put your footing there. Then you can go from there. That is also what a friend of mine did. Make sure you get a permit though. Even if you want to build the framing and everything at a later date, you can get the footings inspected, then you wont have to show proof later. The footing permit would be minumal and then also be cheaper for regular permit. Thats what I did when I built my garage. Got permit for footing then got regular permit later.

I want to do the same thing, so I'm interested in seeing what you get for answers.

You could dig around the perimeter, and pour one.
That's just one option.
