this is a very risky business. it can be done but i don't recommend it. it is against the law to lie on a credit application because it violates "truth in lending" laws. it is, however, legal to disclose that you are using another number rather than your ssn as it is your right BUT by doing this, you risk having the lender decline your application. the issue is that most people use new credit files to commit fraud so it is a very frowned upon practice. many states are cracking down on alternative personal credit files especially now with the patriot act in place. there are many legitimate ways to clean your credit or enhance it without having to create an alternate credit file. also, you may want to consider starting a business and finding a guarantor like a friend or family member that will be willing to act as a guarantor for a business line of credit. it will never show up on that perspn's credt file UNLESS you default on the loan or line of credit and it will build your business credit at the same time so that you can eventually get approved for business credit without a guarantor's credit being a requirement. the only other way to really do it right is to request a second ssn from the ssa. to do this successfully, you must have a very compelling case that you can prove with actual documentation. (if you can show that you are a victim of domestic abuse, if your life is in danger, if you are experiencing SEVERE financial hardship etc....) hope this helps you.....

What you are talking about is fraud. You would have to have a new S.S.N. to establish a new credit file.
