Immediately do the following if you want to be married within the next nine months:
1. Find your Church. Especially if you are not currently a member of a church and wish to be married in one.
2. Find your hall. Preferably very close to the church. Or you can have the ceremony at the hall.
3. Order your dress. Wedding dress people are crazy! Rush jobs when it is less than three months.

Then you can start planning your details:
1. Cake (often ordered by a hall)
2. Flowers
3. Guest Lists
4. Etc.

Go to one of the many websites that give you the details on the rest of this. The rest can be done fairly easy and within a short amount of time.

Some other advice is try to make both mothers involved but not in control. Take their advice but remind them that it is your wedding and ultimately what you want will win. Be up front with that from the start to prevent problems later on.

Good luck!

Congratulations! Think about what you and your fiance like and incorporate that into your planning. Don't worry about anyone else. It won't be their wedding, it's yours and you should do what the two of you enjoy. You could maybe start by deciding what you would like your main color to be and then choose one or two accent colors to match. Then decide if you want formal, ultra formal, romantic or casual. For example, if you both like country, you could use horseshoes and hay bales in the decorating. If you like the formal look, tall elegant candle holders and fancy florals can be used. For a romantic feel, setting up a canopy of flowers, vines or even billowy fabric would be wonderful for you to take your vows under. While what you will be doing is of serious nature, the wedding is also a celebration of the two of you so there is no reason in the world why the atmosphere can't be fun and reflect your personalities. I had pink haired wedding trolls on top of my cake and I wore white tennis shoes that my mom decorated with gems, pink satin laces and troll bow biters! Congrats again and best wishes to you!

Get a good wedding book one that has lots of lists and area to write in. try The Ultimate Wedding Planning Guide, 2nd Edition (Ultimate Wedding Planning Guide) (Spiral-bound) or The Knot Ultimate Wedding Planner: Worksheets, Checklists, Etiquette, Calendars, and Answers to Frequently Asked Questions. First you need to figure out what type of wedding you want, formal, large, small, casual etc. from there you will be able to get started.

I would start out by purchasing a binder and some index tabs, that way any magazine articles, any random thoughts, and planning lists can be separted and stay in the same place. If you're on a budget, visit your local library, they would have books on wedding planning to give you ideas, you can also visit theknot.com. You can never have too many lists and it is best to write down everything so you don't forget something.

Good luck and congrats!

Gees thats a hard one everyone desires different things that they want at their wedding...just start early cause anything that can go wrong just might....but remember it is UR's and UR fiance's wedding so the two of u should talk about what is important to the two of u on having there.....dont let ur mom plan it unless she's going to do it how u want it...plan ahead and give reminders to people who are going to be in ur wedding cause no matter how important it is to u they have other lives and could forget about ur special day ( like ur singers forsay)

good luck and HAVE FUN:)

start with the guests and invitations.. then after that uhm. lets see.. the uhm.. place you guys are getting married at.. then you guys can do all those stuff like uhm.. bridesmaid or best man etc..... you guys can pick that. put that in the invitation and send out the invitation:

Note:
invitation must've time, date, place, JUST the old WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE.. lols. anyways uhm.. DONT send out the invitations UNTIL you guys have picked your bridesmade, best man, etc.....

After those, you can start with the DETAILS. The cake, the decorations. food, appetizers and well, some things like that. Your color theme... make sure you have these:
-Something borrowed
-Something New
-Something old
-Something blue

**It's really important to have those.

Ok well, moving on, AFTER all those stuff, you can pick out a dress(probably your most favorite part! ;D)

After picking out a dress, i guess your good to go and WED!

NOTE:
if i forgot anything here. Sorry.. But i know i havent forgot a thing.

PS= Oh yeah!! The WEDDING REHEARSAL! make sure you pick out a place and time and date, too! well, its before the wedding.. lols.. make sure you include that in the invitation!!! IMPORTANT!!!! **do this while youre picking out the bridesmaid, best man, etc..... ok?

*HAVE FUN! You'll ENJOY doing this! i just KNOW it! ;D*

I agree with the suggestion to buy some bridal magazines to give you some ideas. Also, make it clear upfront to everybody to whom you talk: MONEY IS AN OBJECT. Don't make the mistake of implying otherwise because if you do, you will overpay in an industry that is famous for ripping people off. I used to work at a country club and weddings were our most profitable events. Be careful in that regard!

If you have the money & you are really clueless about everything, hire a wedding planner. If you do not have that kind of money the first thing that's needed is to set the date!!! Call the church (or wherever you'd like to get married) & set the date; then call the reception hall (or whatever) and set that date!!! Everything else will revolve around the date!!!

Register on theknot.com for free. It has a time line based to-do list and every detail you can imagine for planning a wedding. It has a cute little count down thingy on your personal page that you can personalize and make your own wedding webpage. It even has designer dresses for you to look through!

Very helpful with registries. I used it religiously when I was planning my wedding...
