You can also say: "Amor de lejos, felices los cuatro"
"Being lovers and being far away, make the two couples enjoy it really well" (It's not a literall translation)
And for the one u asked for u can say:
"Being lovers and being far away, you will find that both are dick heads"
I made it rhyme, so it keeps it's original "style". Also, dick-head is a close translation for "pendejo" ... "moron" will makwe too, but it doesn't rhyme"
Usually that phrase is not used directly to offend someone. It's more used as a side-commentary (u can use it trying to be ironicall but in a non-formal situation) ... It's a very common phrase here in Perú.

Your love is far away for that matter you really do not know what he or she are doing or if they are being faithful.
