There is a product that you used to be able to buy at Wal-Mart pharmacy, and probably other stores too. It is called PRID. It comes in a small orange can with black writing on it. You put that on the boils (it looks like tar), and then cover with a bandage, and that draws the infection out of the boil. It should heal within a day or two.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom having to deal with them. I've had one in my whole life. What works best is 'draw out salve' like 'Boilease' or just plain over-the-counter drawout salve. That works best. Just apply some of the salve to the affected area and cover it with a gauze bandage. Make sure to change the bandage every 24 hours, with some fresh salve also. You and her should see the boils go down within about a week or so and should completely heal up in about ten days or so. Remember to keep changing the gauze pad every 24 hours as well as applying fresh salve. Keep doing that until the boils go down. The draw-out salve draws out the liquid inside the boils. I've done the salve and gauze thing - trust me - it works.

Best of luck - :)

Hello Myda. Yeah, I know how it feels. My mom also had boils and it's a 2nd degree burn. If it's a 2nd degree burn well, you should take her to the hospital and the doctor will clean it up. You shouldn't clean it up because 2nd degree burns should only be cleaned by professionals because if you clean it yourself it might get infected and might get worse. Take her to the hospital and the doctor will clean it up. After that, the doctor will apply silver sulfadiazine because that's the first aid for 2nd and 3rd degree burns. I know because I'm a medical transcription student here in the Philippines, hehe. I hope somehow I was able to help you. Advance happy new year Myda. ^__^

Go to the drug store and ask for drawing salve. Then apply it to the boils and keep a hot wash cloth on them. (Get a wash cloth wet, then put it in the microwave for 20 seconds) The salve will cause the boils to draw up then go to the doctor and get them lanced. He will give her some medication for them. I hope she feels better soon.

Drink alot of fluids, espicially things with cranberry juice in it. Also wash the boils a few times a day. I had several boils on my leg this year alone.

She has to go get them lanced. This is what the Dr. told me-
Soak three times a day for 15 minutes in warm/hot soapy water.
Bandage and use neosporin. Probably it's too late to just heal, and she just needs to go to the dr.
