I dated a guy 2 years ago. We broke up, I was young, selfish and stupid. He's a great guy! I have since then gotten married and am now divorced. We haven't spoken since we broke up and I got in touch with him a couple of weeks ago. We've hung out a few times but don't ever have "real" conversation. I think I could be falling for him again. However, I can't tell if he's just completely not interested in even being friends (but doesnt want to be rude) or if he's just scared. I always initiate getting together and his answers to me are 1 or 2 words. I want him to know that it's not like the past and that things are different now. I think this could be accomplished by seeing eachother more, but I don't want to be overbearing. How can I tell how he REALLY feels?

you have to trust your feelings for him,and prove him that you're not the same person anymore.let him know that you would like to try again,I'm sure he's just not ready to have you again,coz you've been divorced ,he might think that you're not ready. so good luck with everything,hope it'll work out for you.

I would have to agree with you and just hang out more often. Also let him know your open to trying things with him again. Drop hints on how you had so many good relationships before you got married and you wish you could try again with some of those men. Or remind hime of some of the good times you two had when you were dating. Try to make him rememer why he dated you in the first place. But also remember if he is your 'first love' you will always have feelings for him, no matter what him or you think.

Maybe hes different around u, because he still revolves around ur past relationship with him. and how u mentioned that u were young, selfish, and stupid. ITs time to prove to him ur more mature and u are dedicated to initiating something with him,,KEep hanging around with him often,,and ull be likely to see whats the next step.

Let the past stay where it is. Don't be overbearing. If he wants to call you, he will.
Wait for him to call you up. Let him initiate and then you will know.

I think he's still unhappy/heartbroken/whatever. He stays mum and does it out of compulsion. No idea what compulsion though.
