I think it's kind of mas. Fem tattoos are on the belly button, or lower back.

I have seen women with both (haha, I live in LA... what haven't I seen?) and I think it really depends on what you get. You do have more options than around you belly button or on the lower back. (besides, if you ever plan on having kids, a tattoo on your stomach is not the best idea)

You could do upper back, shoulder, a band around your upper arm, something small on your wrist/ankle.... there are so many options, it really is just up to you. Everyone will have a different opinion about this, but trust me when I say that you'll be happiest doing what you want to do, instead of what you think other people will like.

Another thing you can do is ask any good tattoo artist. They have a very good idea of how to make a general idea you have into something awesome.

Although so me areas have a more fem or mas connotation (i.e. the lower back is popularly considered a female area) there are really no part of the body that are designated for men or women. My wife has both of her lower legs tattooed, and they look great. Body modification is very idividual. Don't let other dictate your art or expression.

Your choice would depend in part on where the tattoo would be located on your body. Roses are good on your back shoulder or breast, as are hummingbirds. If it is a band type tattoo, such as around your arm or ankle I would suggest a vine type with small flowers. Even adding a hummingbird there would be nice. You have the choice of thousands of designs and hundreds of locations to have it done. As another answerer stated I suggest you talk to the tattoo artist you choose to do it about what design you would like.

I always get a laugh out of people who insist hat getting a tattoo on one part of the body is gender specific. I've seen guys with tattoos on their ankles, girls with tattoos on their upper arms and backs and you know what... if it's a nice looking, well done tattoo that is in proportion to their body, it will look good. The important thing is that if you like it, that's pretty much all that matters.

i have one on my calf on my left leg about 4 inches tall and about 7 wide. and then on my right leg from my ankle up to my calf is another tattoo. i tink its fem- im not a dyke or nothing plus my boyfriend LOVES it

i think its ridiculous for people to sterotype people for there tattoos- i got mine for a meaning not for the hell of it so i'd look like a dyke. i get my tattoos for me. i dont think anyone should get a tattoo unless they love it and they want it for themselves. not for what it will look like to others

Feminine or masculine depends on the person, and the tattoo, not the tattoo placement. I wonder what the heck is up with Linn thinking that females can only get tattooed on the lower back or belly button.....

i don't think tattoos on specific areas of the body are gender specific. it's all in the design that makes a tattoo seem masculine or feminine. i have a tattoo that covers about 2/3 of my left calf and i don't think it makes me look any less feminine.

It depends on what the tatto is of and the size of it, if it's like a small or medium butterfly or flower it's fem.

I have a spiritual symbol tattooed on my calf and it's very feminine. And why would anyone think that makes you a dyke??? How retarded.....
