I bought some milk on sale today. It goes bad after tomorrow. It's not really a big deal, because I have 18 month old twins. It will be gone tomorrow regardless. My question is this.....If I were to make pudding, or bake something with that milk. Will it go bad after tomorrow too? I've always wondered, and I thought someone here might know! Thanks!

No.. The date is just a "sell by" date.. It doesn't go bad that exact day. I'd watch out a week or so later though. Always smell your milk if you're unsure.. and if you're still unsure, throw it out. Better safe than sorry!

Regarding the question about making something with the upcoming dated milk.. No.. the baked good will not spoil.

Cooking it in any way (pudding, cake) will extend it's life. The milk will be fine to cook or bake with. It's supposed to be good 10 days past the expiration date, assuming it has been properly refrigerated all this time.

I think it would be ok, because there is a bread called "omish friendship cake" which is made with sour milk. However, the sour milk will affect the flavour of what you are baking.

This doesnt really relate to baking, but you can use to milk to get the choclate stains out of clothes, it doesnt matter if it is sour or not.

It's OK ! If the milk will expire tomorrow. That's a good idea that you can make pudding with this milk.
But after you make that pudding, it will stay just one day at fridge and you should discard that pudding for the next day.

Generally you have 3 to 5 days to use the milk AFTER the sell by date before it goes bad unless you leave it out and it gets warm then all bets are off!!!!

so a procedures as I remember from at the same time as i replaced into extremely youthful - a number of those products that influence adults extra critically did not influence me in any respect! I had 4 milk tooth out because they were crowding and walked residing house grinning at anybody toothlessly with a lollipop from the dentist & then went out to play!

The date on the milk is the last day the "store" can safely sell that milk. From what I learned in microbiology, the milk will (if refrigerated properly) remain consumable for approximately one more week......The lower the fat content in the milk, the closer to one week it will remain good for consumption.

Hello! Well, my Mom said that it should last about a week after it's purchased. I went to make some mac and cheese, and almost started crying (I was maybe 7) because I wanted to surprize her and make her proud and though it was going to expire!

God bless and hope you had a Happy Holiday
