I don't know what I'm doing so I need some help. I'm going to be playing the x box 360 on it but I heard the component cables are fine so I wouldn't need anything for that. As of now I will not be getting HD channels from my cable company but I still need the HDMI cable to make my digital cable channels look better right? I was going to buy the cable from this site as they have some good prices so can someone tell me directly what to buy from there or if they have another site I should go to direct me to that and tell me exactly what to buy. Thanks so much!

You seem to have figured everything out.
Another good and cheap web site for cables is
www.cablewholesale.com
3 ft HDMI $17,60
6 ft HDMI $22.31

By the way, if you don't have an HD receiver, your set-top may not have an HDMI output, but it may have a DVI out.
Component cables are pretty good for Standard Def. Not worth spending money for a DVI to HDMI cable.
