So right when I turn on the car the red protection light comes on. Originally it was working fine, bumping nice etc. In the middle of a drive the subs died out and stopped working, I heard very tiny noise from it. Eventually the fuses popped on the back of the amp the 25. I replaced them and they popped once again right when the car was turned on. I decided to change the subs and got new ones. Now the fuses dont blow, but the red light is still on. When I unplug the RCA cables the red light stays on. I have had this same system for 3 years just replacing it once. I checked the wires and all the fuses and nothing seems to be short. I checked the ground and it is secure. Obviously power works cause there is power. The subs are also bridged. Not sure where to take it cause I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for someone just to look at it.

sounds like you lost a power or ground. Just because the light is on means nothing. You need to test for powers and grounds with a dvom not a test light If you do not know what a dvom is this job is over your head .Not being a jerk just don't want you to blow you amp or subs. If you know what your doing test the remote wire for power when the radio turns on most times this is what goes out. If it has trace the wires back to the deck and find the split and repair If no split found it could be the deck itself. If good power on remote line inspect for power to bat power post and ground to ground post if all good time to hit the stereo shop. Ask around til you get 2 people telling you of the same shop then go there . Good luck hope I helped.

your amp is most likely blown. if it keeps blowing fuses thats a nice indicator. you prob had it at too low of an ohm rating and when you changed the subs it raised it so now the fuses arnt blowing but the damage is already done so the amp is still in protection.
