Could you please explain why my Icons change on my Desktop from whatever logo theyre meant to be ,to a square with an E in the middle

forgive me for not explaining properly. I know how to change the Icons but how do I get them to appear with the right logo
i.e. BBC , Nationwide etc
some are OK like Windows Media Player but many have just reverted to A sqare with a E in the middle

You only need to do a search on here to see how many people are having problems with IE7. The best thing to do is download Mozilla Firefox available from http://www.mozilla.com/ Its faster, more user friendly, easily customisable to suit your needs and no problems.

right click desktop / click properties / click desktop tab / click customise desktop button / select the icon you want to change and click the change icon button and select the icon you want. if that does not work try and select a new theme and modify that to your liking.

Do you mean ALL the icons or have you just a problem with HTML icons.By this i mean HTML or htm icons.
Right click and look at properties, if they are .htm or HTML then i have a fix.

that's rlly weird . try going to properties of the icon and change the it. if it still doesn't work. try deleting those shortcuts and add new ones
