after reading one of your answer that look like a midterm report in biochemistry, the question remains, the best thing to take to reduce cholesterol???? answer, the satin drugs... studies in the American journal of medicine show that "lipitor" is the most effective for the general population ..there are other brand names of satin drugs AND may be more effective to an individual....but in all, studies show lipitor is best for a population

Different meds work for different people, for men most often Zocor is effective, for women Lipitor seems to work best.
Talk to your doctor, maintain a good exercise routine and avoid transfats.

watch out for greasy food. walk more eat more baked food and fruits some say fish oil tablets will help but they never helped me i take a prescription drug lipitor for mine
