Heck no, don't try a Kodak. It's CANON POWERSHOT. They might be a little expensive, but its well worth it. The camera takes awesome pics, and its even advertised on TV. That's not the reason I bought it for. It looked cool, it was slim and nice looking, and the features were amazing. I do suggest Canon. I'm telling you, do not get HP, Sony, or any other company. Ohh, and Nikon, be careful because you might buy something and then not be able to return it. Nikon doesn't have a lot of great features like Canon. My advice, please .......... Get a CANON! .................

I have a Nikon COOLPIX L4, great digital camera. What I like about it is when you buy it, it comes pre-packages with a CD that installs a program like iPhoto if you don't have it and (standard) all the wires that hooks it up to the computer. It has internal memory, so if you don't have a memory chip you can still take photos. It also takes video, too. It was the best buy I found out there, good luck searching for your self. But mine is slim, pocket sized, looks great and does great things!

Probably the biggest bang for your bucks is Canon which put out quality; also consider Sony, Nikon and Olympus. If you're interested in certain features think of other brands such as Kodak like I just bought my daughter a Figi Finepix.

I think the Hasselblad H3D is currently the worlds best digital camera. a 39 MP version is available for a lazy $30K USD.
I am poor so I am stuck with my Nikon DSLR.
