1) I give the first two people an apple then the third person I give the basket with the last apple inside.

2) a person is only born once so they only have ONE birthday.

3) I would lite the match first and use it to light the others.

4) either the problem is that there are spaces that are not supposed to be there in between the eight and the two (8 x 2...instead of 8x2). Or the x is only an "x" instead of a times signal.

am I right?

1. Buy the three baskets with the three apples.

2. One! We are only born once!

3. Well, you can't "lite" any of them first because that is not a word but.....You have to light the match first to light anything else.

4. Well 8+8 is 16 and 8 x 2 equals 16x because I haven't used an x for multiplication since third grade. But 8 times 2 equals 16??

2. Well, the average person has ONE birthday, you are only born once.

3. I would light the match first to light the other things.

Still thinking on the other ones.........

Ok, on the basket one it says "so a PERSON can get an apple and a basket" so I think that 2 people get an apple and the third gets the leftover apple IN The basket.

Now the 4th one.......

i dunno. :) Unless you want to be picky and say that the multiplication sign is not right.
