Simple, just melt semi-sweet chips or whatever kind of chocolate you like in the microwave. Melting directions are on the bag, then dip the candy in it and cool on wax paper.

you can melt regular ole' chocolate chips you get at the grocery store. i like the chips better than the baking squares because they melt quicker.

use a double boiler (or a mixing bowl in a pot filled with enough warm water to cover the bottom half of the mixing bowl), and be sure to not let any water get in the chocolate. if you do, it will seize and be no good for dipping. also, don't let the water in the pot get too hot. a low simmer is usually sufficient. i just let it get warm enough for the chocolate to start melting and keep it there or turn it down a bit. if the chocolate's too hot to put a finger into it, turn down the heat.

you can mix semi-sweet and milk chocolate, but i wouldn't recommend mixing the white chocolate chips with any others. i never had much luck with those.

try some of the dark, bittersweet ghiradelli chocolate chips for a nice change of pace.

Almond Bark found in the baking aisle of you local grocery store. It comes in white and dark chocolate. I promise it works. I have made about 300 peanut butter balls in and chocolate covered pretzels in the last 2 weeks. Just melt it in a double boiler, and dip. It hardens without refridgeration and stays hard unless it gets hot again.

What I did in the past was to melt choc chips in the microwave on 50% power, to keep from "burning". Only do a little at a time, and constantly check and stir it. dip in what ever, or pour into a mold, then freeze/refrigerate for a while.
If you want to keep the chocolate runny, add veg. oil to it.
