I have had a sore throat for a few weeks. It looks like i have a ulcer behind my left tonsil which has a load of white stuff around it. Then my right tonsil is really swollen at the front..They seem really red and lumpy too, I no they are tissues and meant to be lumpy. But how lumpy is normal?

The thing is..it isnt constantly sore but it is at least for about 3 or 4 hours a day. I have had tonsillitis twice before...And it wasnt really like this. My mum isnt worried at all which is annoying. And she thinks it is linked to my eyes cos i had conjunctivitis. Which hasnt cleared up yet. Could this be the case?

Owwww!!!Sweetheart-you need to go to the Dr. and get some antibiotics started! You probably have some type of strep!!! I would get those tonsils out too! Once your tonsils get infected that bad they really are no good to you anymore, just ask your Dr.
Tonsils help our bodies filter out the bad infections we can get during co;d and flu season. I had mine removed when I was 24-It was worth it totally!!!I always had sore throats growing up and the older I got the worse they would get! My Dr. took them out and I have not had any problems since! Maybe a sore throat once in a great while but nothing more than a day or so! That was 20 years ago!!! Just do it sweetie-it's worth it!!! Hope you feel better soon and have a Happy New Year!

The white stuff you describe is infection on, around and in your tonsils. You have a simple case of tonsilitis which requires antibiotics. Gargling with an antiseptic wash eg. TCP also helps too.

You may have an abscess (infection). It would be best to see your Dr. or go to a walk in clinic. Sounds like you need some antibiotics. If your throat hurts you can try gargling with 1 part Maalox, 1 part liquid benadryl. This will help numb your throat and it is not harmful if swallowed.

You most likely have tonsilitis and will need some antibiotics to clear it up. Go to the doctor tomorrow, meantime take paracetamol and plenty of hot drinks.

First thing is to see a doctor, next brew up this; a mug of hot water, 2 jiggers of brandy, 1 tablespoon of sugar, three whole cloves, stir and sip...repeat often!
