I pulled out my wisdom teeth about 2 days ago. I've used an ice pack the first day. The next day, my mouth began to swell up. I used warm water instead of ice pack for awhile and later a dry heat pack for the rest of the day. What should I be using and what will reduce the swelling as fast as possible?

Ice reduces swelling. It shrinks the tissue.

Swelling is a normal part of the healing process. After the 1st 24 hours, you should NOT use ice anymore. It will only delay the delivery of immune system cells and nutrition to the area which will delay the healing process. The swelling will be at its worst 48 hours after the extractions and gradually subside thereafter. Take as little ibuprofen as you find effective for the management of pain, and wait for your body to do its job. I hope this helps.

Like everyone else, I will advise you to use an ice pack. It will reduce the swelling, however, if you couple that with something like Advil or Aleve, you should really see (and feel) the results relatively quickly.

I just recovered from an extraction myself, and it was a miserable experience!

Ice is the best for reducing swelling.

Ice so long as there is swelling and/or bleeding. Heat increases circulation, cold decreases it.

you might have a bacterial infection, go to your doctor and and get an antibiotic or the dentist. IMMEDIATELY.
If you just had swelling and not a potential infection, I would suggest a cold pact to reduce the swelling-but you probably need an antibiotic.
HURRY UP SEE THE DENTIST OR DOCTOR-GET AN ANTIBIOTIC!!!
