if i play video games on a new lcd tv is it likely i will get screen burn in or a distorted picture?

Not that I know of... my boyfriend bought an LCD when he got his XBox and that's about all he uses it for. It hasn't caused the screen any problems.

No. Burn-in is not really an issue with LCD screens; it's more of a problem with plasma TV's.
