Hi Sweetie - everyone is afraid of rejection to some level, and you've been carrying this around with you for a long time. Sometimes you just have to take a chance. If he means that much to you, but you can't face the thought of talking to him straight out, why not write a note and make sure he gets it?
There was a girl who was crazy about me and I had no idea. She wrote me a letter (on pink paper!) telling me that she'd love to see me and hoped I'd call her (she put her number in the letter). 8 years later we were looking at buying a house together.
You need to know whether or not you can make this happen so that you either get the man you have fallen for, or can move on. I say Go For It .. and good luck!!

Tell him how you feel and if he's not interested, move on. Why have you obsessed over him for so long and done nothing about it? Are you that insecure? (I mean that in a concerned way, not a derogatory way). Is he married? If he is, then hands off. And I'd say that what you're experiencing is obsession and not true love. I don't think a person can experience true love for someone in this kind of situation.

Well, you'll never know until you ask. It is better to try and be rejected than to live a life not knowing if just maybe he feels the same way about you. Do it in private.

why not contact him and find out where he's at in life before pouring out your feelings. letting it all out can be overwhelming for a guy. Go on a date and see how things play out.
What you said sounds romantic, but in the REAL WORLD people CHANGE.
The guy you liked 4 years ago could be a totally DIFFERENT guy today.
Being in love is wonderful, but an hearbreak can be deadly.

Yes, we have all felt this way. If you do speak with him , do not say 'I love you', just ask him out and see what he says to a date. Sometimes we build people up in our minds to be something real special, then when we get to know them, they are not what we thought. So, do not be nervous, he is just a human. Ask him out!
BTW..I think what you wrote is very sweet.

Put yourself out of your misery and just ask him out. Hold hands, smile, have good conversations... all that good stuff. Wait for the moment and go for the kiss. Then, you'll know for sure how to continue. If you wait too long, that person will get away.

grow up and just ask him, and dont tell him you have loved him for that long cuz he will get a restraining order on you, stalker, but seriously if u cant talk to a guy or ask him how he feels about you, then how do u dress yourself in the morning? just talk to him, if he doesnt care about you back...then at least you know, life aint going to give you the answers you want to hear, that doesnt mean we can hide our feelings forever hoping they'll work out. ask him, talk to him, w/e your approach is...just do it. love is a great thing, but its better when you have two people involved, instead of one person fantasizing about the other, nothing real about that.

All you can do is take a chance and express how you feel, love is built on take risks and chances. If you like him as much as you say you do, then see if their is a mutal connection, if there isn't one then at least your mind can be at ease
