The 5th digit of the VIN is "F" but the engine appears to be original with factory a/c. Thanks,

only if it was ordered that way, otherwise it came with a six :)

Here is the available engines an the decoder for the VIN. Looks like your car came with a 318 and some one changed it.

Fifth digit is the engine type and size:
1968:
318ci V-8 F
383ci 2bl V-8 290hp G
383ci 4bl V-8 330hp G
383ci 4bl V-8 335hp H
440ci 4bl V-8 375hp L
426 Hemi 425hp J

yes, the charger,could most surly have came with the 440, it was the first year for the 440 you could also get a 426 hemi in the charger the the street hemi came out in 1966 the 440 in1967 the most common engine for the charger that year was the 383 4 barrel

'67-'69 F code engine was a 318.

'67-'69 Vin codes for 440s were:
K: 440
L: 440HP
M: 440, 3 two bbls

My 70 Charger was originally a 318 car but now has a big block. It looks right.

Yes the 1967 Charger did come with a big block 440 Magnum, and it was the standard engine with the R/T package. I believe it pulled out 375HP

i own a shop,and yes they came out with a 440 in them ,i had a friend who had one ,it was a late year production car,,but it had the factory 440 in it,and his also had air on it,and it was a 4 speed car also,,as you can tell I'm in to dodge,s i have a 71 challenger for now,,i think it may be sold,,but yes they did come out with the 440,s,,very few of them though,,hang on to it,,its going to be worth some good money,,good luck hope this help,s.happy new years.

You need to check the VIN on the block and compare it to the VIN's on the dash, or the door.....
