You tried something else than usual.
You didn't leave it on enough time.
Do not try to redo it as one hair color doesn't lift hair color and will burn your scalp and could cause serious problems.
You should seek advice before you do anything else to it as the reasons can go on to be honest so see your hairstylist or a color expert and ask. You can end up with a large problem in the end and end up with loss of hair in many ways.
Don't let it happen to you.

Uh Oh! You should go to an experienced hair stylist that works with bleach. Someone who is experienced with bleach will be less likely to break your hair. If you try anything else at home be careful! Did you leave the product on long enough? Was the color a light enough color? If you attempt to put something else on your hair at home (not a good idea, salons are trained to do hair, you are not, maybe you should think about going to hair school if your already dabbling) do a strand test first. This is done by using only a small section of your hair to test the color on first. If you try a toner beware, this can make your entire head a grey or gold look if you choose the wrong one. www.makinwavescorp.com

Yeah at home color kits only go down 2 shades/2 tones, so if you are already blonde you go down 2 like your bleach blonde part, but as your roots were probably darker they went down 2 to an orange color.

i did it once - i had to go bk to hairdresser and have fixed as the boxed kits wont do what you want due to their restrictions. Hairdresser color is better.

Having been in your shoes myself, I strongly recommend going to a salon to have it corrected professionally. It makes all the difference. If you can't do that, then maybe a beauty school as it is less expensive(but the work is done by students and supervised by a licensed professional). Good luck !

When dying your hair dear always dye it an ash blonde to eliminate the orange colour. Try Viva Color ash blonde, it comes in 3 ash colours, very light ash blonde, light ash blonde and dark ash blonde.

Use washing up liquid. Use it as you shampoo, and i heard this gets rid of just dyed hair. I did hear once that Tomato Ketchup does help to, but i am not so sure about that?
