do what you love.

take your undergrad degrees into the work world and experience real life for a few years, then after seeing what about it you like and don't like, go back and get your masters based on your experiences.

I am in sales and it is totally not what I thought I'd do (I have a degree in management). My original goal was the go to law school and specialize in contracts and intellectual property. For a year after graduating I worked in jobs not worth my time until I went to an employment agency and got an entry level customer service job and quickly moved up to a sales executive. Like I said I didn't think I'd want to do sales but it has been several years and I've become very sucessful at what I do.

My advice would be to try on different jobs and don't be afraid to step away from your major when searching for the right job. You may actually be surprised that there is a career path out there for you that was not on your radar originally. Try different routes in your search. I tried the employment agency. The people there receive more notices of positions open than you can imagine and because they usually have close relationships with the companies, they know the type of person the company looks for. Good luck!

Your fears and concerns are probably more prevalent than you think. Almost no one knows with certainty what they are going to do in the working world until it is upon them. I received an art scholarship going into college and ended up being a CFO. In your situation I really believe that you are going to take a little longer in the “real” world getting it figured out. It may mean that you try a couple of things you absolutely hate until you find something with enough challenge and reward to suit you. Remember, the people around you can make all the difference. Don’t underestimate the value of working in a company of cooperative and friendly people. It can make any job so much more satisfying.

I had the same problem. I changed my major a couple times, then couldn't find something I wanted to do. I got a general Associate's degree after 3 years, then quit school. I am using this time to figure out who I am and what I want a little more. Then maybe I can go back and get that degree that I really want. Good luck!

When you are in doubt of what to do for yourself...Do something for someone else. There are a lot of wonderful program to send recent grads to countries like Africa and China to help teach English (that's if English is your lango) You can sign up at your university or check out the peace corps. They do this programs for FREE and many times you get paid with free room and board. Tt's a way for you to experience the world, while you help others. I did it and many people are doing it. When you are done, you tend to know what they want to do with your future and you have impacted the lives of so many. How cool is that?

I am a junior and still unsure of my major... but I know what I want to do. You have to map out your life and goals and dig deep to find what will truly make you happy. if you can find a good balance and have the passion and the money then wonderful. Also you have to remember alot of people that graduated and got jobs arent even working in the field they got there degree in, so with a degree you will get a job you just cant panick. Things will fall into place. but ignore what everyone else is doing and remember what you think makes you happy.
Goodluck!

I'm in Graduate school right now, I took a year off to complete my studies. It was tough to decide what I really wanted to do. I believe that I will teach. I love learning. The more I learn the more I'm beginning to realize teaching is my calling. In a few months I will be completing my Doctorate after 6 long years.

You will know as you get closer to graduating and if you still don't know continue and do your MASTER then your DOCTORATE.

Trust me , something will come along and you will be successful at it.

I thought I was going to be a doctor, but I was starting to lose interest in the courseload. I talked to a lot of people in the profession and started investigating other lines of work. I sat in a few meeting of the pre-law society at our school, and found that I enjoyed the conversation more.

Now I am an attorney.
