Yep, I would say it is normal. I had one done same place and it hurt for a while, then it got mad itchy. Tattoist said to keep putting baby oil on it, but I found it too greasy. I used Aveeno Cream (you can buy it at any chemist) because it is not greasy, is great for sensitive skin and really hydrates your skin. Just make sure you keep it clean and well moisturised and DO NOT scratch it when it is itchy. If you do that you shouldn't even get a real scab, it will just go a bit flaky at the edges. Don't rub it too hard either when washing, and avoid really hot showers/baths and avoid soaps/shower gels that contain sodium laureth sulphate (as it drys out skin). Also try to get as much air to it as possible, I know that's a bit difficult because of where it is.

Hope it goes ok. If you are worried or if it gets any worse, you should go back to the tattooist for advice.

It's an open wound that takes time to heal. The fact that it's in a spot on your body where the skin is continuously stretching and where clothing will rub (no matter how low you wear your jeans), it doesn't surprise me that you are still sore.

If you are concerned that something is wrong, call your artist. It's very unlikely that you got an infection if the artist maintained standard sterile care around his workarea, and if you were taking care of the tattoo properly. You could also have your doctor take a look, just to be safe.

When I had my ankle done, the first few days were very painful and then it got progressively better. I figure that I was genuinely sore for about two weeks until the healing process was well underway.

it hasn't even been a week yet - it will hurt for about a week, then it'll start to itch. Once the itch sets in, that means it's healing, but do NOT scratch it - put a teeny bit of cream on it to stop the itch so it'll heal properly. You got a tattoo in a part of your body that doesn't see much activity it's not tougher skin like your arms or legs, so it may take a bit to heal. Just give it a few more days and you'll be pleased with the result I'm sure. If in doubt, contact your tattooist.

It should still be sore but not hurt or cause you alot of pain. There could still be a dull soreness feeling to the area but if it is painfully and makes it diffcult for you to complete your normal tasks, you may have gotten it infected. Go to your doctor and let them examine it and if they think there is a possibility of an infection they will prescribe you will a medicated cream and/or a antibiotic. Call the tattooist and ask there opinion but chances are they will juts tell you if it really hurts to go to th doctor. If it keeps hurting after a week, definently go to the doctor.

I would check with the tattoist, also have someone look at it. See if it is red, irritated or scabbing as these could be signs of infection. My tattoo on my shoulder hurt for about two weeks but was told by that tattooist it was because he is "heavy handed" and the tattoo was very deep.

If it has been getting irritated then it will still hurt. It may also be drying out too causing the scab to hurt. Make sure your putting plenty of the cream on it. Keep it completely covered in it until the scab is ready to come off. DON'T pick it.

Yes, this is normal because it is in a place that get rubs constantly. It should feel no worse than a severe sunburn at this point. As long as there is no oozing or redness with streaks, you are good to go, just be patient. If it shows any signs of being infected, go to a doctor.

Yes it is very normal. The place where you got your tat is on a very boney part of your body, and after a needle that pierces your skin at 3,000 revs per minute, it is going to be tender. Give it another week, keep applying the hemp and you should be fine duck!!!
