everyone that i know say a girl and a guy can't be 'just' friends and that sooner or later one of them will start liking the other. i think it's kind of true, but i want to know what you guys think and why.

It's definitely true. I've tried to be "friends" with a few guys and it always resulted to us either becoming more than friends or the guy wanting to sleep with me.

In the movie "When Harry Met Sally", this line is the most true. Men and women cannot just be friends. The reason is because the man will always be thinking about having sex with the woman. I have found this to be TOTALLY true....and I have 35 years of experience on this earth, with too many guy "friends" to admit to here.

I don't think that is true. I have known this particular guy for 20 years now. We were friends first, then he became friends a guy that I eventually married.
I am still very good friends with him and I have NEVER had any sort of feelings for him. Nor has he for me. We are very open in our relationship and he tells me everything.
I think that a guy and girl can be lifetime friends, of course they can...of course there have to be limitations set.
Good luck!

I have plenty of guy friends that have always remained guy friends. But there have been a few occasions where one has confessed that they were in love with me and couldn't stand just being friends anymore. so i guess it's a gamble

I don't think it's true at all. I have plenty of friends who are guys. In friendship, gender doesn't matter, at least for me.

You don't have to have a romantic relationship to be close to someone.

for me, and I know this true answer could mess up my chances, if I am getting enough, no alcohol involved , and she is not appropriate for me, then ok, just friends

when and if any of those variables change, I'd be chasing her to try to get some
