Pick her up and take a look on her neck if you can, you may see something you may not. If you think she is hurt see a vet, it could be she wants back out or maybe just happened to go into heat (if not fixed yet) and this is her way of letting you know. It could be any number of things causing her to do this. Sounds like you are worried so call a vet and get her in for a check up.

Sounds like its picked up fleas as when on a cat they tend to go for the fur around the neck. Pick up the cat gently and slowly spread the fur so you can see the roots and you should be able to see little black dots and maybe a flea (hard to spot as there small and very quick). If it has go to your petshop or vets and get some flea drops

she either has fleas or it could be that she was scratched by another cat and its getting infected, check her for cuts thats the usual problem , it takes a few days for the infection to set in and then the cat starts to show signs of discomfort, what i do is restrain the cat if you have to and keep looking until you do find something then i gently massage some sudocream (antiseptic cream for babies) into the wound, id do that once everyday but make sure you use plenty & its oilbased so it wont come of. if the cat improves then she,ll be fine if not then you have to take her to the vets

She may have gotten a flea bite and isn't used to it. Try to get to her when she's relaxed and happy (probably sleeping) and gently part her fur and have a look around on her skin at the spot she's been rubbing. It might just be a bite but if it's a scratch or wound of some kind you're probably going to want to visit the vet!

well she went out for the first time and it might be that she has caught a cold due to the outside weather...or if it wasnt cold then maybe she has got some allergy which was in the outside environment....and so tears may be runnin down her eyes and nose..........where as rubbin of neck indicates two things one is that she might be making herself feel comfortable due to the hinderance or the second thing may be that she just likes to get tickled(cats rub their body parts as their routine and may be she has learnt it aftet she has become a bit mature after 1 yr.).................dont worry fren she will be alright...take her to a vet and take care of her but dont over-pamper her or else she may lose her ability of fighting wid toughness..

My cat did this. She had a bad rash sort of thing. Move your cat's fur and see if there is redness or puss. Even a thorn would make her do this. But go to the vet to be sure.

this could be fleas, check for small black mites but this would normally have the cat scratching. it could also be a tick which would cause some discomfort. you need to check for visible signs. it could of been attacked.

take to vet as soon as you can. be safe rather than sorry

hope he/she's OK

Get flea shampoo... the fleas were probably biting her.... and do a clean sweep of your house to prevent a complete infestation... fleas can hide in sand and outside in your lawn so maybe outside trips aren't a great idea,,,,

You might want to take her to the vet. She could have a flea or tick there. A vet could recommend a flea collar.

It does sound like fleas...but she might have been in a fight...maybe some tom cat has tried it on with her...they're really nasty when it comes to mating!!
