This is simple common sense, put the socks and necklaces in a drawer where the cat cannot eat one,its dangerious for the cat.
just saying no is not showing who the boss is, they are like 2 year olds you need to cat proof your home. as for the crying because he spends the entire night in the bathroom.I would cry too if i thought nobody loved me enough to let me have company.
after all you would not put your daughter in the bathroom all night would you? If you are going to be a responsable cat owner behave like one.

Boss??? This is a cat you're talking about, not an employee!

He sounds very sweet to me, with socks and necklaces! I would laugh and hug him hard, instead of screaming and hating his guts. I bet that love and attention would stop his attention-seeking behaviour, poor mite!

Your cat needs to play, needs toys, even a bit of string dragged around by you so that he can chase it will be all right.

Shutting him in the bathroom will just show him that you are cruel and don't love him, because you keep him away from you.

Cats love company. If he's biting socks and necklaces sounds like he is desperate for playing and attention. Give him some!
And put away the items that you don't want him to bite.

He is like a baby, he doesn't want to spite you or anything, he just doesn't understand why you hate him for being himself and he's showing his unhappiness the only way he can: by beahving weird, so that you will notice him!

He might also be on heat, have him neutered and he will settle down more, plus he won't be making a billion homeless kittens.

The cat doesn't want to be alone! It's that simple. There not dogs. & Anyone with cats knows, they are the boss...not you! Sorry.
Pick up your stuff and let the cat sleep with your daughter, it should fix the meow meow blues for all.

consistent with danger she continues to be adjusting to you and a clean atmosphere. Our cats are crate knowledgeable-the cage is gigantic sufficient to hold a coated clutter pan and an ottoman with toys strung from the remarkable. while we corral them at evening, they understand that's bedtime and we don't hear a peep till morning. of path, they hear the alarm clock and don't get exhilaration from the snooze button, yet we sleep via the evening! If she is a reliable cat, do no longer provide up yet. yet while no longer something works out, that's greater useful which you're taking her decrease back than boot her out on the line.

1st, You are not the boss. For a cat, at best you are the mother, but not the boss.
2nd, shut the bathroom door keep his litterbox outside.
3rd. feed him before you go to bed, and keep him active in the afternoon and evening. Cats are nocturnal animals, but they learn to adjust to your schedule.
4th, encourage him to sleep in your bed or near you.
5th spay or neuter, and wait till he/she is older. Normally they are not very naughty after 1-2 years old. If he is 4-12 months, just be patient, it's the naughty age.

you might want to get him some cool toys of his own to play with. Those furry mini mice are my cat's favorites..they have tails and are made of fur and small enough to pick up in their mouths and carry around. Also since he likes necklaces..get him one of those things you hang on a doorknob that he can bat around. Put all your necklaces away so he can't find them since he could choke on them and the socks..well..he likes socks..he can't get hurt on them so maybe give him a pair of his own? As for his crying all night...that's because he's locked up and wants to get out to play..cats are nocturnal animals and need to do their thing at night so let him out of the bathroom and give him lots of toys, water and crunchy food so he'll be occupied at night..also pay alot of attention to him before you go to bed so he'll be satisfied with affection so he doesn't bother you all night. You could also get him a companion cat to play with and they probably won't bother with your stuff anymore. But definately get lots of mini mice! Cats love them! My girls have hundreds of them...I keep a basket full at all times for them amongst a million other toys...cats do love their toys!

You have to keep the socks and jewelry out of his reach. Keep a water squirter near the bathroom and keep the bathroom door shut. Squirt him when he crys. Again and again. Eventually he will lose interest in the bathroom.

She's crying because she is lonely. Put something in there with him that makes noise like a clock or a radio. Try feeding him some soft food or milk before he goes to bed so that he has a full tummy.
