Okay so I got my new Canon A530 Digital Camera for Christmas. I need to lower the resolution but I dont know how to. The resolution is too high for me to take a good amount of pictures currently only allowing me to take 5 on a 16mb card, and 30 seconds of video capture before the card is full. Anybody know what buttons to press to get me to the resolution part.

Your instruction manual will tell you this. If you have misplaced it, download the basic or advanced manuals from the Customer Service section of www.canon.com

Ok, first of all, you need a bigger memory card. If you lower the resolution, the pictures won;t come out so good. You can only take 5 pics and maybe a 30 sec. video because videos take up a lot of space and its only 16MB. You need at least 1GB. You can buy them cheap on eBay, bestbuy, circuit city, compusa, etc. If you want to lower the resolution, Hit the fuction Set key, scroll all the way to where there is a big L, and those are the sizes you can take. If you scroll the right, you increase the number of pics/movies you can take. My advice, get a bigger Memory Card!

In Camera mode press the menu button and then find the section that has a picture size (there are likely 3 or 4 to choose from) and there is also the quality L/M/S. I really can't remember exactly but I know it is in the menu settings under camera mode.
