One is 32 bit and one 64 bit but you can't run 64 bit programs on the 32 bit version

x64 edition is for 64-bit processors. It utilizes the 64-bit architecture of the processor, the only problem is that there are not many 64-bit programs out there, or 64-bit drivers (which is the real problem). I suggest sticking with regular 32 bit Windows XP for now.

Doesn't matter b/c the newest version of Windows, Windows Vista, is coming out in late Janurary 2007 in 4 editions: Home, Business, Home Premium, and Ultimate! Get one of those.

64 edition is faster and it needs a 64bit processor.
