there is no short answer to this...i believe most peoples relationships will fail at some time...and the world today is a funny place...on the one hand we have all this help available to us for relationship issues...but on the other hand we live in such a disposable society that no one seems to bother working at things for too long...there are some things of course that require no working out...violence for example...but on the whole if people took more time...and were generally more content...then not so many would fail..........................

i do also believe that there is someone for everyone... the kind that just slips sweetly into being...and can remain an ever fixed mark...despite tempests,lol...but you have to be so lucky to find it...and even if you know where it is, its kind of like buried treasure...you have to find it...unearth it...make it yours...then keep it safe...and thats often easier said than done........;0)

oh...and the guy calling his wife a pig ...is just a mouthy w*nker...lol...;0)

Going by stats ... 50% of all marriages fail. Far too many. Divorce is just too easy now-a-days. I'm divorced ... yes, but ... I toughed it out for more than 10 years, trying desperately to make it work. It seems soooo many couples try to save the relationship, for a very short period of time ... and if it doesn't work the way they want it to ... they part. Some men are very reluctant to seek counseling, and some women are having a difficult time ... trying to hold down a full time job, while running a household and caring for children. It has been studied, and men do not equally share household and child-rearing duties.

All of this balled together (among numerous other factors) makes for a failed marriage. But, when there's one immature partner in the relationship ... like the one you mentioned, the marriage is doomed ... from the very beginning.

ALL relationships are not doomed to fail. But I think a good number of them are. Not everyone moves forward in a relationship with their head (if you know what I mean). A long term relationship takes work. You are two different individuals, with your own upbringing and history. You're bound to have some bumps in the road. Some bigger than others! I think with a mutual respect for each other, any relationship can last.

As for the guy calling his wife a pig, he can do whatever he wants. It's entirely possible that she doesn't mind the name. If she does, then she should discuss it with him. I don't think we should judge people we know nothing about.

Hmmm... well honestly, I would say that most of relationships r doomed to fail. I think it's one of the hardest things in the world to find someone who is truely ur match. Someone who is worth the time to work on ur relationship, rather than just give up and bail. For most people, it's easier for them to just give up, and go find someone different. Life stays exciting if you do it that way. Rather than same old same old.
Anyways, the most important thing to remember when in a relationship is COMMUNICATION. Without communication, everything in a relationship can and WILL fail. Lack of communication can cause fights about rediculous things that could have been easily avoided with some simple communication skills.
I feel like I'm rambling on and on... so I'll stop there. I hope my answer doesn't leave u feeling too negative about relationships... but more educated about y they fail.
HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

First and foremost, I think that guy's question was a joke.

However... yes, every relationship is doomed to fail. Nothing is forever. Why? Because we're only people.

What's the best a relationship can possibly do? Marriage? A life together? And then one of you dies... and leaves the other one alone.

The only way for the relationship to work to the very end... is if you both die together. And is that really something people aspire for?

It all ends in tears. And yet, love is simply too compelling to be denied.

Relationships are like entropy. They tend toward chaos unless someone tries really hard to keep things running smoothly. That's why they say they're a lot of work. So, in a way, they are all doomed to fail if one or the other parties doesn't try to prevent it. Or, as in the case you mentioned, are determined to destroy it.

jesus, that sounds familiar, my ex-husband said that to me amongst many other nice things. I still remain optomistic even though I am having a tough time in my current relationship I think they can work with lots of communication, that's truly the key.

Lets hope that their not!

Some people have no respect for their partners. Maybe she should tell her to her face and see what he gets in return!

Happy New Year!

All relationships that have a man involved are destined to fail unless the women decides she will put up with all his bs.
