I was at a gorgeous wedding with an open bar and I asked the bartender to make me any drink that he hadn't made the whole night. He created this gorgeous green liquid with a cherry inside and put it into a martini glass. When I asked him what it was called, he said something like Mellopole? Or Melonole? I couldn't understand his accent. Later, when I went back to the bar to request something similar to it, and I said, "Can I please have a Mellopole?" to a different bartender, he looked at me like I was nuts and asked me to repeat the name. I said "Mellopole? Melonole?" and he said something like, "Oh, a Meloball?" So I shrugged and said, "I think so." So he made me an Apple Martini, which he claimed was similar. Can someone please help me figure out what it was that I had in the beginning? It was sooo sweet and yummy, and if I ever request it again, I don't want to sound like a fool!

I can't imagine why a mellon ball is being concidered a really nice drink. It's one of the most boring ones out there. Vodka, Mellon Liquour, Orange Juice...big deal.

I'm actually thinking along the lines of the "Grasshopper" May not be by the same name but the clues go with it.

Something he hasn't made all night, that means his stock of milk is just sitting there and needs to be used up. It's exotic meaning better tips and it really is a great drink.

1 oz Green Creme de Menthe
1/2 oz White Creme de Cacao
Milk

Shaken. Usually served in a champagne glass but why not in a martini glass.

Ask for a Grasshopper next time and see if it's the same.

Melonball. One shot midori, two shots rum, fill with sweet& sour mix, dash of orange juice, and top off with a cherry.
Was that it?

Probably was a mellonball, but if you want something tastier, not so boring, try an appletini
