Port wine will last much longer than regular wine. I believe weeks to months. I have a bottle that is opened and months old that I use for cooking and it's still good.

Hello,
Port is a fortified wine (fortified with grape spirit) so it does have a longer shelf live than regular wine. According to the Wine Spirit Education Trust (WSET) the authority of wine education states that Port should be treated like regular wine and consumed within a week of opening.

However, I am paid to drink wine and my personal choice with Port is to keep it for 30 days after opening. I am one person so it takes me quite awhile to drink a bottle of port. Port already has an oxidized taste quality so the additional taste of oxidation does not bother me.
Cheers!

The flavor will start to degrade after about 2-3 weeks, but still be drinkable for much longer. Invest in some wine stoppers (they are cheap at a wineshop or Brookstones) which allow you to suck out the air from the bottle when you recork it. The vacuum makes any wine last a lot longer.

As long as it tastes good, it's ok. I imagine you probably put the stopper back on after opening it. If the flavor tastes 'off', you can still use it for cooking. The same doesn't hold true for regular wine. It deteriorates quickly after opening and begins to taste like vinegar. You can still use either to cook with (the alcohol burns off while cooking, so don't worry about serving anything you cook with wine to people who don't drink - children etc.)

I.E. a pantry of in spite of. the biggest key to be sure you keep the cork moist by using storing the bottle on its area.
