I also walk 3-5 miles a day on my treadmill

Thursday: Tuna in water or 1 can of pregresso chicken soup

Friday: Salad (fat free cheese 1/2 cup) 1/2 cup turkey meat (and fat free dressing 5 teaspoons)

Saturday: Water only

Sunday: 2 pieces of meat (chicken, fish or turkey not fried) and 1 veggie fresh do not use can veggies

This could be done! I have to lose weight to save my vision!

You knew you would get a lot of flak when you posted this but you did anyway, because it is working for you and you, generously, thought it might work for someone else.

You don't state your weight or the nature or extent of your obesity, which is key to understanding that this diet may work very well for you as you may have enough stored calories to sustain yourself quite well for some time.

While I don't think this diet is for someone with less than a hundred pounds to lose I do congratulate you for doing something to change your habits, as once you are within 40 or 50 pounds of your goal weight and can switch to a more mainstream health approach, a normal daily diet of 1000 calories will seem like a daily feast to you.

Good luck.

Have you shared your diet with your doctor? In looking at it, even if you are HUGELY overweight, you are still taking a monster risk with your health.

By so severely restricting calories, your body will go into survival mode and start storing calories as fat, even if it has to cannibalize muscle mass to do so. This will slow yur metabolism and stop fat from burning off.

Consider this.

Drink all of the water you can. Three pieces of fruit, three servings of vegetables, 2-3 servings of brown rice or beans, a serving or two of bread, and 2 servings of meat spread out over six meals a day. This will keep your metabolism fired up and burning fat.

You MUST feed your lean body weight, or it will die. You are not eating enough to keep you muscle mass from withering away.,

It seems to be a little extreme. And also seems as though you are making sacrifices. If you can sustain it as a life long change, then it may work. Else pick something that will stay with you like a good habit. It may be easier on you psychologically to eat smaller portions (by intentionally eating only half of whats on your plate, or half pastry). That way you dont feel deprived, even at social events. Also try running (its not diffucult, esp as you have displayed the determination with your extreme diet!!), as it burns about 900 calories / hr, depending on your speed. But as you said, you know your body best. Remember, that if it hurts, its not good. It you cant stick with it forever, its not a good plan. Good luck.

What you are doing is incredibly unhealthy. You are losing approximately 4 pounds per week. This is asking for serious health problems; problems that could possibly kill you.

Sure, you're losing weight at an incredible rate. The problem is, you're losing more muscle than fat. This will lead to severe health problems, including a weakened heart.

Losing fat does not involve eating less; it's eating the proper amount of calories per day from proper sources (i.e. lean meats, whole grain, fruits, vegetables, etc), spread out to 5 - 6 times per day. For example, if your target caloric intake goal is 2000/day, then divide that by 5. That's 400 calories per meal, 5 meals per day.

Combine this with exercise, even if it's just walking for 30 minutes per day, and your metabolism will rise. This, in turn, causes your body to burn more calories resulting in fat reduction.

I highly, highly recommend that *no one* follow this asker's "diet plan"; it is unhealthy and dangerous.

I wouldn't suggest your diet to any one. It's border line anorexic. A REAL healthy diet would be one that includes meals through out the day, eating only once a day Will mess with your metabolism. And if you keep following this, eventually, you'll reach a plateau that you'll only be able to break with more restrictions.
I'm glad that you're seeing your doctor, but does he know about what you're doing to yourself? And medical professional who knows a thing or two about easting disorders will agree: this diet just isn't safe.
I'd break up my 1500 cals through out the day instead of taking it in all at once to keep my metabolism normal, which is key to weight loss. And also get more variety in your diet.
But congrats on what you've managed to lose so far; I only hope you take when I've told you into consideration and loss more weight--but in a healthy way.

Does your doctor know the specifics of this diet? I can not imagine any respectable doctor endorsing this eating plan, even if you have a lot of weight to lose for medical reasons. Remember, you will not be able to keep this up forever and unless you practice and learn sensible habits all the weight will come back. I am happy for you that you are reaching your goals, but remember this diet has been around for years---it is called anorexia.

Just water on Saturday? That really sounds nuts. But I know that it can be done. Also it is better to eat in the mornings not at night.
Anyways, I suggest you be careful and not do this for a long period of time like you are now.

Sure doesn't sound like anything I couuld handle. I take medications that would keep me from doing this.

I am not sure you should be doing it, either. 1500 calories a week isn't really enough to live on. No wonder you have lost 53 pounds.

Surely your doctor has suggested adding a bit more food to this????

your not eating 1500 calories a day and if you need to lose weight to save our vision, which I have never heard of then maybe you should have your Dr. design a healthy diet plan for you. What you are doing is not healthy. No this plan would not work for me. I want to be healthy and your plan is not

If you are a female you should have 1500 to 1800 calories per day
whereas Males should have 2000-2200 calories per day
Perhaps you are asking for trouble if you take 1500 calories per week!!
