Who feels nervous going to the nurse,for a Blood Test. ? Having 1 soon and feeling nervous?

Am i the only one,who gets nervous having Blood Drawn ?

Feel pathetic for getting so scared. and panicky.

what can i do to stay calm ?

I think everyone feels nervous...Just take a deep breath and try to meditate...no pain,...no pain..

Obviously, you're not the only one. I have blood work done once a year and I still dread it. What I usually do, if I can, is take someone with me, someone close to me who can keep me calm and distracted while it's going on. As child-like as this may sound, sometimes I take my mom with me, because she is very good at distracting me from the pain of the puncture and the needle removal (Those two parts bother me the most). She always finds something wonderful for me to think about.

If I have to go by myself, I think of something that I like or something coming up that I'm excited about (trip, new book to be read, friend who's coming to visit, etc.) and when the nurse is about to start, I concentrate on that thing and imagine every detail I can think of. If I can't think of anything intriguing, I imagine myself flying through the clouds, because I think that would be totally awesome...
