I have wandering thoughts that infiltrate my mind and keep me wondering if someone is out there trying to hurt me.... I know I"m going crazy and the only one that 's helped me is my girlfriend and I know she's there for me, but I can't get in touch with her... I'm in soo much pain and I don't know where to go or what to do. I don't want people I really know to think I'm crazy, because I seem like a normal guy. Please help me... I don't know how much more I can take...

Do the following now and if ever you stall out:
1) Take a breath in through your nose (hold it a beat) out through your mouth.
2) Take another breath in through your nose (hold it a beat) out through your mouth.
3) Take a third breath in through your nose (hold it a bit, think: "I can do anything") out through your mouth. 4) Keep the fullness of breath going now just through your nose.

Ok, read on, you are ready.

This how you start your engine when it stalls. You will not function (though you might think you are functioning) unless your engine is idling in this fashion . . . on the fuel of consistent, full breaths of air. Track your progress throughout the day. Observe how many times your engine stalls out -- how many times, when you're not paying attention, your breathing becomes shallow and weak. Observe how, even at your age, you haven't even yet learned how to breathe. Meanwhile, you have been trying to live your life without this basic activity mastered and made second nature. So you have found yourself struggling to learn lessons, having mood swings, getting bored, getting angry, getting confused, procrastinating, feeling anxious, envious, jealous, etc. You went to psychiatrists, sought help from coaches, teachers, spiritual leaders, doctors, your elders, and your partners, all of whom were also not breathing properly ...

Breathing correctly is a precondition of real life and of real understanding. If you have not reached the point where you are breathing full breaths on a regular basis all day long, you aren't really living. You are merely shuddering. This is the world we live in. A world of shuddering souls. It is no wonder there are so many problems in the world today. Our non-breathing doctors cut our umbilical cords, slapped us on our backs and sent us out into the world -- shuddering!

Failing to breathe properly is the single reason for all other moral failings. Therefore failing to breathe properly is a VERY SERIOUS, IMMORAL ACTION!! Breathing normally is THE ONLY THING YOU ARE HERE TO DO.

PLEASE, remember what I am telling you here. Stop trying to get your "goals accomplished" until you are noticing that not only have you been staying on top of your breathing (continually evaluating it), but that your breathing has dramatically normalized (full, consistent, regular breaths). Under these more optimal breathing-conditions, your "goals" will turn into "passions" before your very conscious eyes. So from here on, I want you to focus on NOTHNG BEFORE YOUR BREATHING!! NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT. You may allow yourself to get distracted, but remind yourself as often as you can that all other things are NOT REALLY YOUR JOB. Your life is just something you do WHILE YOU'RE BREATHING not vice versa. You are here to establish a normal breathing pattern under the pressures of and pleasures of semi-awake consciousness. The breathing you are looking to possess here is unforced, instinctual breathing -- you are already set up to do this automatically, but the rise of human consciousness interferes with it. So now one has to be constantly focusing on it. If you must, do nothing for a day or two until you can get your breathing to go on as regularly and and as copiously as is normal -- try doing small tasks while 1) concentrating on your breathing, 2) breathing normally, and 3) smoothly conducting the transaction. This is not as easy as you might think. If you fail to successfully get a bag of popcorn, for example, while mantaining a normal breathing pattern, then you are not yet ready for your hopefully more complicated life. Stay out of life, until you get these small tasks down, then you can move back into your life slowly. It will probably take a few days if you've been living your life as most of the human population is, ie, under the false presumption there are goals more important that mantaining a normal breathing pattern.

I would at the very least use the phone book or internet to find a phone number you can call - a psychology help line or something, or go to a health clinic or your regular doctor. Just look under "help lines." Most of them are toll free and all are completely confidential. It could just be holiday stress, but depending upon your age, situation, and other symptoms, it might be a good idea to just talk it over with a professional. Don't just rely on your girlfriend.

Call a crisis line or helpline or even 911 if you can't find anyone else to call. You could also go to an emergency room where they could connect you with a mental health professional. You need to see a doctor NOW. You aren't crazy; you're sick, and a doctor can help you. I know the pain you feel is really hard to deal with, but there are people out there who can help you.

Go to this website to find the help line number for your state:

Step 1: Calm down, it sounds like your in the midst of a panic attack.

Step 2: Rub some ice on your face.

Step 3: Call a doctor.

Everything is fine. It's good that you can realise there is a problem.

I'd take a look at animals.

I have a guinea pig. A very simple creature, he is full of happiness and his life consists of nothing much from eating, sleeping and wandering around my room. Animals can calm you down (spend time with them, petting them) and teach you to relax and enjoy the simple things in life.

When I'm stressed, i always try to imagine what my pig would remark.

You are being paranoid. Relax and Take deep breathes. Nothing is going to do you any harm unless you allow it. Just stop thinking too much. Try to leave your mind in blank and just let thoughs that really matter.

Crazy people don't know they are crazy. So because you think you are still normal, may mean that you are actually crazy. Go to the doctor.

If you arent feeling safe go to the emergency room. You are a normal guy its just that you are going through what sounds like a rough time. No shame in that.

I know this seems like an easy answer, but prayer always works. It doesn't matter what specific religious affiliation you may have, but just talking to a higher power that already knows you and doesn't judge you for anything you might be thinking is very cleansing. Give it a try.
