It is more a life style disease... the type of posture one holds for long... even stomach disorders (bloated stomach can pull the back muscles much causing a strain)... etc. But drug effects appear least probable... the literature on the drug will indicate if there is such a probability...
Take specific mild exercises for the lower back pains suggested by trained yoga teachers... the exercises also take care of depressions and make people strong willed... often mental weaknesses are also due to physical weakness...
Take the raw food - those prescribed by the yoga teacher him/herself... Plenty of fresh fruits, green vegetables and sprouts, namely alfalfa and moong sprouts, cottage cheese and butter milk are good to reduce depression (taken from my yoga class notes)... For back pain also, salads of raw veg - tomato, carrot , cucumber, radish, lettuce and all fruits (except banana) are good...Vitamins C,D, minerals of Calcium and phosphorus are useful... (you can take vitamin and mineral tabs in consultation with Drs)...
Water therapy involving drinking six glasses of water first thing in the morning etc (said to remove uric acid wastes effectively and relieve joint pains, acidity in stomach and gas production, etc) are also suggested by those who got relieved from such complaints...
