Do they toss you in jail?

I appreciate the young lady calling me a "p*ssy". How classy. I guess I should have mentioned I have a pretty severe LD which would probably get me excluded. It is called aspergers. If I had the opportunity, I'd willingly fight for my country but NOT for my president.
PS. Vietnam draft dodgers got pardoned.

Patti, we don't fight for our president? That is funny, I thought he was the commander in chief.. I thought he's the one who initiated this unjust war in Iraq. our government is there for the country, the country is not the government...read the ******* declaration of independence. should it come time that the government does not represent the interests of the people, it is the duty of the people to overthrow that government. have a super good day :)

Yes, you'll do a couple years in prison.

If I were you I wouldn't worry. There's not going to be a draft, unless of course Iran or Crazy Kim hits us with a nuke. If that happens you're going to be working for Uncle Sam.

I already did my 22 years worth in the navy. It'll be your turn.

If "they" come after you, you can and probably will go to jail. If "they" aren't interested enough to chase down a draft dodger, then your name, SSN, etc., will be put on a bench warrant and you will end up in jail the first time a traffic patrol officer checks your details.
Or, you can totally desert your country and run off to Canada or Mexico or somewhere like it was the '60s.
Either way, you end up with a record.

Addendum: As you said, "...declaration of independence. should it come time that the government does not represent the interests of the people, it is the duty of the people to overthrow that government. ".
In our oath of allegiance when we join the military service, there is a phrase which states, "...defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic...". You are absolutely correct in that it is the responsibility of the people to overthrow the government when it ceases to represent the people. We have the opportunity to do that every four years. Did you vote last November?
BTW, if your disability classifies you as '4F', then you don't have to go. However, you _must_ register and get that 4F classification through the system. If you want to serve, there are ways that even a 4F can do so, just ask your local recruiter. He should be able to help you in that respect.

If you are drafted and don't want to serve, there are easier ways to get out of it than being arrested and serving a sentence. The easiest would be to fail the physical examination with the help of a drs letter. You can also appeal to the draft board that you are unfit in other ways. I would advise you that just ignoring it would be the worst course of action. i believe there will be a draft again, but not during the Bush administration.

If there was a draft you will not be the only one that won't show up. I don't think this administration has any idea what they’re doing. (Idiots!) A draft today is not going to work and if it did they would not get the numbers they need to make it successful. I'd support you if you don't go. And I'm in the military.

I've never met an intelligent army soldier. It's funny how people who are so "sure" there will be a draft are just a bunch of military meatheads who try to scare the fear of god into you. If being a big pussy means standing up for what you believe in, then be a big pussy. If this country doesn't have enough people willing to fight for it, then it shouldn't be in a war.

A judge will issue a warrant for your arrest, and you're supposed to spend the same time in jail as you would spend in the service...but you'd probably only do a couple months. It's a felony though, and you would be branded as a man who walked away from his country when it needed him. Personally, I don't think draft-dodgers should be allowed to live here anymore. They should be deported to Cuba as political refugees or something.

What happens if you flat out ignore it? Well first of all, it makes you a pu**y! The police will put out a warrant for your arrest and when they catch you you will go to prison. We all know what happens in prison to little bi**hes who dodge the draft, now don't we? You better hope there is never a draft!!!

btw....you didn't add that you are disabled or whatever? You just asked what would happen.

They find you, make you go, and upon your return from war... you serve a jail sentence. It happened to my uncle during Vietnam.

Its called you go to jail.

Our military men do not fight *for our president* but; for our government, which we are all under. "one nation..."

Hey, we all voted ((if you didnt, dont blame anyone but yourself)) and the majority won. Suck it up... if you don't like how our nation and goverment are run, please find someplace else to live.

And, dont take this personally - you asked for my opinion, there it is. I do not sugar coat my answers... :)

Have a super good day. :)

You'll go to jail- but they will not re-instate the draft.
