You're right. Representative Goode is indeed playing on fears that many have in this country. Had he lived a little earlier, he probably would have been warning Americans of the "dangers" of letting too many Irish into the country. He and Dennis Prager have forgotten that America's diversity is one of its greatest strengths and religious freedom one of its most cherished liberties. Being a Muslim is not antithetical to being a patriotic American, but labeling someone as un-American because of their religious background and discriminating against anyone solely because of their faith is. It's positively un-American.

I think the founders would be ashamed of Rep. Goode and all who think like him.

One of the most ignorant parts of Goode's rant (and there were many) was when he expressed his fear that immigrant Muslims from other countries will keep coming here and running for political office. The person he was criticizing, Congressman-elect Keith Ellison, can trace his American lineage to the mid 1700's in Louisiana. Can Good do the same? Doubtful, he's probably like most of us, a "Euro-Mutt". Unless he came over on the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria, he needs to quit beeing such an a$$hole, and finally admit that the confederates lost.

He's a bigoted, ignorant, hate-mongering fool. He was one "macaca" comment away from losing his re-election bid, and even at that he only won by 8 percentage points...in Virginia...a conservative district in a conservative state. He's pathetic.

It just shows that the American Christian Republic thinks they're superior to everyone else and that they think that the Muslims are misguided idiots who will take over the USA if not the world and enforce Shariah Laws upon the citizens of the USA. Maybe the media should try having a broadcast with some Muslims and show them what Muslims are really like instead of playing us Muslims out like terrorists which most of us are not. But that will never happen because the media knows they like scaring the Jahnnam out of the American public and know if that it's much easier to instill fear about Muslims worldwide and in USA then in taking some time to broadcast how most Muslims really are.

What does "faith in America" mean? Is this a faith in our Constitution and other founding documents? Or is is it the intelligence of its people? Or maybe you mean faith in the government.

Who subscribes to these things today? Do you?

According to our Constitution and its amendments, Rep. Goode STILL has the right to voice his views. He will have this freedom of speech until it finally gets stricken from our laws by those who have no faith in our country.

Yes. He sounds paranoid, as though he thinks a Muslim could not represent his constituents as well as a Christian. I also think he is pandering to the paranoia of his supporters. By feeding their fears and proposing a "solution" (the old 'build a wall around America" approach), he justifies their fears and guarantees himself another term.

So says cair. Why did they drop their lawsuit against anti-cair? Until there's a reasonable explanation (i.e. one that doesn't indicate it was because turning over their financial documents to the anti-cair attorneys would reveal that they support terrorists organizations), I will take their opinions with a grain of salt.

I don't think so. I think they reflect our country's collective FEAR of the world's Muslim right-wing extremist Jihads and their "holy war" campaigns....AND RIGHTFULLY SO!!
