Maybe your new friend is losing interest. It's only been eight months. Let go. If your friends wants to stay in touch he or she will, if not, he or she won't. Make new friends. You sound young. If so, there are plenty of new people to meet and share good times with. Don't dwell on it too long. Don't force yourself on this person, just be cool and make new friends, or just love on yourself until new friends come along.
