Not directly. However drinking water (in replace of soda) can help lose weight and drinking water will also make a person feel more full than they would feel if they just ate food. In addition, water does have... negative calories. If the water is ice-cold, then your body needs to exert some energy to warm up that water when it is in your body. As a result, each glass of cold water you drink is about -7 calories. If you do the math, drinking 8 cups of cold water a day for a year will burn ya about 6.8lbs... not bad for just keeping yourself hydrated!

As an earlier answer explained, no, water does not reduce fat in people. What water can do is to curb appetite for a time and hydrate the body. Both of these objectives are very beneficial to anyone trying to loose weight. By curbing appetite, a belly full of water may give the feeling of being full, therefore, a person will not eat. By hydrating the body, water helps flush move waste material through the body to be filtered by the liver and kidneys.
As for the effect alcohol has on fat? This depends. Alcohol by itself has no nutritional value. In other words the calorie is empty. This is why you see heavy drinkers of liquor, whiskey, gin, vodka, etc., as being very thin. They consume large quantities of calories but because there are no nutrients in the calories the body will begin to feed off itself.
However, if for example you are consuming large quantities of beer and in some cases wine, you can consume some nutrients from these drinks. Due to the carbonation of beer and other ingredients of the stuff, beer drinkers can become fairly large. With heavy wine drinkers not so much but it can happen.
To further your search you may want to google alcohol and body fat to see if there is a direct link to what you are looking for.
Good Luck.

Does obessed = obese?
Can water reduce fat? No. Usually water is used to a) curb appetite so that they lose weight since it doesn't have any calories and b) to help keep the body hydrated and reduce toxins. Drinking water without any other diet changes will not help you lose weight. But drinking water with a low calorie diet can be very beneficial.
Alcohol is high in calories, so drinking it can cause you to gain weight.

I dont think water actually reduces fat , I think it just flushes your system and doesnt add additional empty calories like soda and other soft drinks, so it keeps you from gaining unnecissary weight. I dont know about the alcohol part though, I dont think it would have an effect either way. I know alcoholics that are skinny and big so i dont think that makes a difference.
