Varies, but the basic recipe:

2-3 oz. of light rum
2 oz. coconut cream/milk
3 oz. pineapple juice

Combine in a blender at high speed with crushed ice.

Variations:
Add shredded coconut, sugar, vanilla, etc.
Use fresh pineapple (rather than juice)
Serve over ice or straight
Add garnishes (usually cherry/pineapple)

Enjoy!

I've never made one, but I LOVE pina colada, and have only had a very good one ONCE.

This one seems good:

The good thing with this one is that you can change the number of servings. The other good thing is that it tells you to put ice cubes in the blender (if you put ice cubes later, it just doesn't taste good). And also that you need to use fresh pineapples (it really makes a difference; the best ones are the small ones - I don't know how they are called, and don't know if you can find them in your area, but in any case, try to use one that is sweet).

You can also add a bit of sugar, preferably brown one.

I have been a bartender for 7 years and this makes the BEST Pina Coladas

1 1/2 oz of rum light or dark or coconut
Vanilla Ice cream
Ice cubes

To make Pina Coloda mix
I can of crushed pineappe (with juice)
I can of cream of coconut
Blend together

Then in blender or mixer add Ice cream, rum, mix, ice cubes.

To add a little extra zing put strawberry purre on top and float dark rum on top of that.

1 ripe baby pineapple
60ml coconut milk
A few ice cubes
60ml white rum such as Metusalem

Instructions
Cut off the top of the pineapple and carefully scoop out the inside, making sure you don't puncture the skin. Purée the pineapple flesh and tip into a sieve so the juice drains through. Press it gently to extract all the juice.

Pour 120ml of the pineapple juice into a cocktail shaker. Add the coconut milk, ice and rum. Shake vigorously until well chilled. Strain into the pineapple and drink through a straw.

If you don't want to make it from scrathc, just buy pina colada mix, and follow the instructions. If you want them frozen, buy the mix in the freezer section of the super market. Otherwise, the room temperature stuff in the liquor store is fine.

Put all ingredients into an electric blender with 2 cups of crushed ice. Blend at a high speed for a short length of time. Strain into a collins glass and serve with a straw.
