If you are self employed and you are using the car for business then just keep the invoices of repairs,petrol and any expense to the car give this to your accountant and at the year year when he fill tax return form he can put it as an expense so will cut your tax bill as much as spend on it but this is only if you are using car strictly for business not for example to go to work .
2)If you are working for a company than you just keep a note of you mileage and give it to your employer to refund it to you and they get it back from the tax office at their year end
