God sent a chicken and it hatched an egg!!

The egg had to come first. There were other animals (including birds) before the chicken that evolved INTO the chicken, but a "first chicken" had to be born before it could lay any eggs itself.
So, in a general sense, a chicken-like animal laid an egg and out came a chicken (though that happened over tens of thousands and/or millions of years).

It is obviously the egg. Using the word 'evolved' should have made it plainer. The species came about through evolution via reproduction. In this process the newest generation is always one step ahead. Therefore the egg of the current chicken speces existed before the chicken itself.
P.S. I would be appreciative if MrA could explain his theory more fully. It is a compelling one but I cannot see how it works.

Millions of years back When somebody was digging a pit, he saw there was a egg he took it out and after some time chicken took birth out of it.........so egg came first........

Everything in the universe GOD has made so of course he had made a egg first because he didnt just say saome "mantras" and a chicken appeared...he experiemented

egg evolved first because dinasourous layed eggs;chicken came after the extinction of dinasourous.

uhm i think that a differnt animal layed a hy(bird) egg and it just happened to be what we call a chicken so the egg did

tell me first was it coconut tree or coconut itself
i feel that the egg must have been first. due to the changes in environment .u know darwins theory survival of the fittest.so there might have been slow and gradual changes and finally egg.
