If Bush doesn't back off, there is a good possibility.

1 - The draft will not be reinstated. We have a fully volunteer military, and no need for a draft.

2 - Even if something horrible were to happen (China declares war on us or something like that), it doesn't mean that you will be drafted or, if you are, that you will see combat.

3 - Believe very little of what you hear from politicians. They are always trying to sway the public with half-truths. This and most everything else they say is a scare tactic to try to get people to vote one way or the other.

You are a girl, I would assume by your avatar, so you would not have to anyway! I doubt there will be draft, but people aren't enlisting in the military anymore- with that being said, it is possible. Most of the time, they won't draft an only son and there are a few other circumstances that would prevent you from being drafted.

It depends on how long the war goes on for. Just because there is a war doesn't mean that YOU will get drafted when you're 18, but there is a chance. They draft people when they need them, and you have to go. You'll just have to wait and see.

No there won't be a draft.
The only reason why the DNC wants a draft to start the ground swell against the war on terrorism because people would be force to fight.
The military doesn't want it. The GOP doesn't want it.
Last time it went to a vote it had only about maybe 10 who voted for it.
It is just a tool to scare people to relax.

Don't worry! The military has said they DO NOT want a draft. The weapons are too high-tech and require too much training to have people rotating in and out as draftees would. The president has no plans to institute a draft.

Some say yes, some say no. It had better not happen, because I believe a promise was made saying it would never happen. I am old enough I would be at the bottom of the list, but it is a scary thought. Just live life though, cuz there is no use worrying about something you can't change.

Don't worry. We're too sexist as a nation to draft women.

A draft won't happen. Rangel is trying to make a point and it has no chance of getting to the House floor.

With the death toll mounting every day in Iraq, and the U.S. spreading itself so thin throughout the world playing "world policeman" where else are they going to get enough people to replenish the ones killed, or leaving the service?

Probably not....but if they did reinstate the draft chances are they wouldn't draft girls. If they do though....contact me and I'll marry you and move you to Canada.
Stop worrying about the draft and start thinking about English.

As you say it's only one guy who has got every ones panties in a knot. The president and just about the rest of America do not believe as this one guy does. I wouldn't worry too much. We don't need a draft right now.
