Am I wrong for that? Last nite I bought myself a nice 3/4 length "winter off white" wool coat & I'm buying new shoes & an outfit today. New Year's I'm going out with someone & I want to look nice. I thought I should do that for MYSELF, since I went thru so much depressing & agitating stuff this year (but I HAVE made good progress) - and also because I just broke up with someone who I really cared about & right now I'm suffering heartache & sadness getting over him. I haven't been dressing myself up lately because I've been in a funk.

I want to come out of this, so I thought why not go shopping, splurge on ME & bring the New Year in dressed up really nice while I'm also going out on a date for the New Year.

Am I wrong for that? Or should I stay home & SAVE my money & be still until all of my huge debts are paid off?

Didn't mean to sound like I'm DEEP in debt, because I'm not. I just meant I wanted to "take a break" from everything and splurge on ME for the New Year ...... and get back to biz after 2007 comes in

Its called retail therapy sweetie.....its a bad thing and can get you into a load of trouble. Been there and done that. I would say there is nothing wrong with wanting to look nice but I would check my closet first for something that I could make work. Put the credit cards away and start a savings plan.

Enjoy bringing in the New Year and make your new years resolution to pay off your debt. Keep in check that it's what is inside you that makes you beautiful.

Have a VERY happy new year!

While you should always get debts paid first sometimes you have to do things for yourself I wouldnt go overboard but a few dollars and some primping time wont hurt

how much did you spend? spending to get out of a funk is definitely not healthy. not that you are wrong for that, it's wrong for you.
what is healthy though is dressing yourself up during this time rather than letting yourself go. going out doesn't always have to require spending money. find ways to get dressed up and go out without forking over the cash. it is possible.
good luck
