I just did a search for her on IMDB.com. It says: One of her ancestors, John Witherspoon, signed the Declaration of Independence. In the movie 1776 (1972), the role of Dr. John Witherspoon was played by James Noble. Is that the same John Witherspoon you're asking about? Her dad's name is also John. Hope that helps.
