Do you think that Barbaro will return to racing? They said he was better and could race.

Either that person was wrong, or you misheard.

Yes, Barbaro is better. But he will not race again.

His right rear leg/ankle/hoof is all fused together by screws and the metal plate. (Try walking without moving anything in your right ankle or foot).

Also he is still missing most of his left hind hoof wall. This is slowly growing back.

All things considered, he is doing GREAT. But he won't ever race again. Hopefully, he will be out of the hospital soon. He might be able to begin his career as a stud in 2008. I hope they bring him to Pimlico and have him walk out on the track before the newly named Barbaro Stakes, which will be run on the same day as the Preakness.

Now that would be something to see.

No, his career is finished as a race horse; the damage was too severe. He will have another career as a stallion.
